Small Gym Bring your yellow checkout sheet with you. Be sure your teachers have signed your checkout page (with ‘pass’ or ‘fail’ written out and the number of units earned as ‘five’). All books should have been turned in and fines paid PRIOR to checkout. Counselors will sign checkout sheets & caps/gowns will be distributed. Wristbands will be available for cash only with exact change. |

Graduation Speaker/Performers Eligibility

GPA: cumulative 2.0 or better in academics & 3.5 or better in citizenship.

Attendance: Your senior year attendance must be in good standing. This includes having a minimal number of both tardies and cuts.

Suspensions and behavior: NO suspensions during your senior year. Inappropriate behavior that occurs after you have been chosen to perform will disqualify you from performing.

Speech and/or lyrics: Provide a written copy of your speech or lyrics to Mr. Waldo on May 13th.

Sign-ups: If you would like to audition, please sign up with Mr. Waldo in room 58 or via email: rwaldo@sanjuan.edu. Sign-ups will open May 6th and will close at the end of the school day on May 13th.

Auditions: Auditions will be held in the band room before a panel of judges after school on Tuesday, May 14th. This is the only day on which auditions will be held.
EC Senior Attendance Policy
Seniors with too many periods of truancy, aka “cuts”, will not be allowed to participate in the commencement ceremony. The number of classes in which a student is enrolled not counting CTE multiplied by 6 is the number of cuts that disqualify a senior from participation in commencement.
3 classes = 18 cuts
4 classes = 24 cuts
This is total for the entire year. It does not start over at the block!
EC Tardy Policy – Consequences Per Block
If on social probation on graduation day student will not be able to walk in the ceremony.
1st-3rd Tardy = Warnings
4th-7th Tardy = 15-minute lunch detention per tardy
8th-12th Tardy =1-hour after school detention per tardy
13thTardy = Tuesday School (2-hour detention)
16th Tardy = Tuesday School (2-hour detention) AND 1-week Social Probation
19th Tardy = Tuesday School (2-hour detention) AND 2 weeks Social Probation
22nd Tardy = In-School Suspension AND 1-month Social Probation
25th+ Tardy = In-School Suspension AND Habitual Truancy Conference AND Social Probation until the end of the block
SENIOR BALL DRESS CODE
Please dress in good taste
● No plunging necklines
● No bare midriffs
● No back below the waist
● Slits in skirt only up to mid-thigh
● You must wear a shirt
● Shirts must have sleeves
COMMENCEMENT DRESS CODE
This is a formal ceremony!
● Dress, dressy pants
● Skirt and nice top
● NO FLIP FLOPS
● Nice slacks
● Collared shirt
● A tie is appropriate
● NO JEANS
● NO TENNIS SHOES or SPIKED HEELS
GRADUATION ROBES & ADORNMENTS

All students will wear a green robe.

Students with a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.75 and higher will have a special adornment, to be determined by student government.

All other adornments must have prior Principal approval. Approvals no later than May 30.

Caps cannot be decorated.

No adornments such as money or flower leis.
Spectators are not allowed to bring in balloons, large signs or “big heads” that will block the view of other spectators. These sorts of items will need to be left at the front gate and picked up after the ceremony. Confetti is also not allowed as it is impossible to get out of the turf.

Only senior portraits taken by Bill Smith Photography will be included in the yearbook. There is no charge for the yearbook photo. Go to billsmithphoto.com for an appointment. You can also call 916-749-1026. The deadline to have your yearbook portrait taken is November 18.
Senior Yearbook Ads
The deadline for families to create & purchase a senior ad for the yearbook is November 21, 2024. Spots are limited, order early. Price varies depending on size. www.yearbookordercenter.com ▪ Enter school code 6224

Graduation Day Information
All senior breakfast: check in begins at 8:15, breakfast at 8:30.
Bring your yellow check out sheet with you.
Be sure your teachers have signed your check out sheet with pass or fail written out and the number of units earned as “five”.
All books should be turned in and fines paid prior to check out.
Counselors will sign the check out sheet and caps/gowns will be distributed.
The graduation ceremony is held on Abbott Field at 7:30pm.
Gates open at 6:30. Arrive early for best seats.
Each student is given 6 tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased for $5 each.
Graduates must be in Graduation Dress Code:
- Dress pants and a button up shirt
- Skirt and blouse, or dress
- Dress shoes, flats or wedge shoes ▪ No high heels!
- All students will wear a green robe
- Students with a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.75 and higher will have a special adornment, to be determined by student government
- All other adornments must have prior administrative approval
- Caps cannot be decorated
- No unapproved adornments such as money or flower leis
